Scratch Pay FAQs

Scratch Pay plans offer simple, transparent financing solutions for the cost of veterinary care, dental work, and many other medical procedures and treatments. A Scratch Plan enables approved borrowers to access their desired care and spread the cost of treatment over time, with financing plans available up to $10,000.

You can apply for a Scratch Pay plan from any internet-connected device at scratchpay.com, where you will receive an instant plan decision in most cases. Your credit score will not be impacted when you apply and accept a Scratch Pay plan. Scratch Pay plan applications do require a soft credit check.

Although you can apply for a Scratch Pay plan before being seen for a medical appointment, we recommend consulting your care provider beforehand for an estimated treatment cost.

Unlike a traditional credit card or other financing options, applying will not affect your score.

Typically, a borrower's credit score will increase slightly when you open a new Scratch Pay plan because you have increased the number of credit relationships and credit mix. This process reverses itself once the plan is paid off, causing a borrower to lose the incremental benefit from their Scratch Pay plan credit relationship.

Certainly not! There are no pre-payment penalties for any of the Scratch Pay plans. Feel free to make additional contributions to your monthly payment if possible!
